Banco de la Nacion Argentina was founded in 1891. Owned by the National State, in a few years it became the largest Argentinian commercial bank. Its main objective is to serve as financial agent for the National Government and, as such, it receives official deposits and makes payments on behalf of and through orders from the National State. Another priority for the bank has been to assist small and medium size firms.
