Cresud S.A. is an Argentine company that has been a leader in the agricultural business for over 80 years. They produce high-quality goods and add value to the Argentine agricultural production chain. They have also expanded their presence in the region through investments in Brazil, Paraguay, and Bolivia. Cresud was established in 1936 with the purpose of managing the real estate assets of the Belgian company Credit Foncier, which provided rural and urban loans in Argentina. After the dissolution of the company that gave rise to Cresud, they shifted their focus exclusively to agricultural activities in the 1960s and 1970s. In 2005, Cresud created BrasilAgro to replicate their business model in Brazil. BrasilAgro's shares are listed on the Novo Mercado of BOVESPA since May 2006 and on the NYSE under the ticker symbol LND since November 2012. As of June 30, 2021, Cresud held a 38.9% stake in BrasilAgro, which is consolidated in their Financial Statements. In 2008 and 2009, Cresud continued its regional expansion by acquiring land in Bolivia and Paraguay, diversifying their portfolio and replicating their business model in these countries. Currently, Cresud is one of the leading agricultural companies in the region. They are the only agricultural company listed on both the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange (BYMA:CRES) and the NASDAQ in the United States (NASDAQ:CRESY), demonstrating transparency and responsibility.
