YPF S.A. is the largest oil company in Argentina. YPF's main activity consists of the exploration and production of oil and natural gas. It also focuses on refining activities, marketing, transportation, and distribution of oil and a wide range of derivative products. YPF was the first oil company in the world established as a state enterprise and the first to become vertically integrated. It was privatized in 1993, then owned by Repsol since 1999, and again nationalized in 2012. YPF is the largest producer of oil in Argentina, controlling over 35% of the oil and gas market. It has been granted 93 concessions highlighting the shale reserve of Vaca Muerta which is the third biggest in the world. Its main production centers are La Plata, Luján, and Plaza Huincul. Its logistics network has 1500 trucks and 1500 stations.
