EFT Rudnik i Termoelektrana Stanari d.o.o. is a Bosnian coal mining company, part of Denmark-based energy trading and investment company EFT Group. The group has projects in western and central Europe and has a special focus on the south-east European electricity market through energy trading, investment in new energy production units and building of new transmission capacities.
The coal basin of the Stanari mine is located 70 km. east from Banja Luka. Mining operations fist started in 1948. EFT acquired the mine in 2005 after the authorities of Republika Srpska called an international tender to find a private investor for the mine.
The Stanari mine excavates over 900,000 tons of coal annually. The mine is a supplier to various lignite consumers across Bosnia and Herzegovina and has commercial relationships with more than 300 businesses nationwide.
