The Public Forest Enterprise of Republic of Srpska was established in 1992 and is based in Sokolac, in the eastern part of the Serb Republic.
The company is responsible for safeguarding and managing the forests in Republic of Srpska, which, together with the Muslim-Croat Bosnian Federation, make up postwar Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Public Forest Enterprise consists of 23 Forest Management Units, a Research, Development and Project Center, located in Banja Luka, a Seed Production Center in Doboj and a Bare Mountainous Terrain Management Center in Trebinje.
