Bangladesh Services Limited (BSL) is a company located in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It has been involved in the hospitality business for over 40 years and was the first to introduce international standard five-star hotels in the country. From 1973 to 1983, BSL operated under the name Hotel Inter-continental Dhaka, in agreement with Inter-continental Hotels Corporation, USA. From 1984 to April 2011, it operated as Dhaka Sheraton Hotel under an agreement with Starwood Asia Pacific Hotels and Resorts Pvt. Ltd., USA. Since May 2011, BSL has been operating Ruposhi Bangla Hotel, which was closed for renovation in September 2014. However, BSL continues to operate the VIP lounge at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka. On February 19, 2012, BSL signed a 30-year Management Agreement with InterContinental Hotels Group (Asia Pacific) Pte Ltd. (IHG) for the management of its hotel, with the option to renew the agreement for two additional terms of five years each. After an extensive renovation to meet InterContinental's brand standards, the hotel reopened on December 1, 2018, as InterContinental Dhaka. In addition to its hotel business, BSL also rents out properties adjacent to its hotel to local and international organizations. Furthermore, BSL has been managing and operating the Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) since July 1, 2012, after being awarded the responsibility through an open tender by the Public Works Department (PWD) of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works on June 17, 2012. BSL has gained a reputation for successfully hosting national and international conferences, seminars, exhibitions, and other events at the BICC.
