Emerald Oil Industries Limited (Bangladesh)

The Company is engaged in the manufacturing and selling of rice bran edible oil from the inner husk of rice plant since 2011.
The rice bran edible oil is sold in bulk as well as under its own brand name, (Spondon Oil). In the processing of rice bran, de-oiled bran, fatty acid, wax, gum and spent earth are produced as by products which are also sold.
The main raw material is the rice bran which the Company collects from five districts Sherpur, Mymensingh, Tangail, Natrokona and Jamalpur.
The Company was incorporated on July 17, 2008 as a private limited company named as (Emerald Oil Poultry Industries Limited) having its registered office in Dhaka.
The Company started commercial operation on 2 July, 2011 and the factory is located in Sheripara, Sherpur Sadar, Sherpur on 2.89 acres of own land which is about 170 km away from Zero Point, Gulistan, Dhaka. The Company changed its name to its current name on December 1, 2011. On December 21, 2011, the Company was converted into a Public Limited Company.
The Company was listed on March 13, 2014 on Chittagong Stock Exchange and Dhaka Stock Exchange on March 11, 2014.
Major competitors of the Company are Rashed Oil Mills Ltd which markets its rice bran oil under (White Gold) brand name and KBC Agro Products Private Ltd, a Joint Venture between Bangladeshi and Indian entrepreneurs.
