Autotechnica, which was established in 1995, is the exclusive importer of SEAT, the Spanish unit of Europe's biggest carmaker Volkswagen.
The firm, which has been a franchisee of car rental company Hertz Corp. since 1996, is one of the largest rent-a-car firms operating in Bulgaria.
In August 2003, Greece's largest rent-a-car company Autohellas purchased a 99.6% of Autotechnica from Cyprus-based Bemal Auto Ltd. for EUR 1.0 million.
The Greek firm, which is the biggest national franchisee of Hertz International in Europe, announced plans to hike Autotechnica's capital by EUR 2.0 million.
Autotechnica sold 191 SEAT vehicles in Bulgaria in 2005, compared to 434 cars in the previous year.
Bulgarian car dealers sold 33,434 new automobiles in 2005, up 34.2% from the previous year.
