"Bulgarian Real Estate Fund REIT" (BREF) is a publicly traded company with a special investment purpose, headquartered and managed in Sofia. The company was founded in October 2004 and is one of the first registered REITs in Bulgaria. Its history dates back to April 2005 when the Fund obtained a license and began its activities as a REIT. BREF specializes in strategic acquisitions and investments in properties with good returns in all sectors of the Bulgarian real estate market. The Fund's main investment objective is to provide its shareholders with a combination of current income and long-term growth in share value. Its strategy involves acquiring, developing, managing, and leasing properties with high potential for generating cash flows and achieving good capital gains. As a public company, BREF is listed on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (Sofia) with the stock code "5BU" ("BREF"). With a raised capital of 36 million euros, the Fund is among the largest REITs in Bulgaria. Bulgarian legislation provides significant privileges to local REITs, allowing BREF to be exempt from profit tax but requiring it to distribute at least 90% of its net income as dividends to its shareholders. As a public company, BREF's activities are under the control and supervision of the Financial Supervision Commission (FSC).
