Balkanpharma Dupnitsa is a subsidiary of Bulgaria's largest pharmaceuticals group Actavis AD, former Balkanpharma Holding. The drug maker, which produces over 150 types of medicines, is the country's largest producer of solid dose pharmaceuticals - both capsules and tablets.
In 1999, Balkanpharma, now part of the Icelandic generic drug group Actavis (former Pharmaco), bought 55% in the Dupnitsa-based plant for USD 11 million and pledged to invest USD 15.52 million in it over the next five years.
The main products of the company are Fezam, Sedalgin neo, Spazmalgon, Nifedipin, Atsetizal, Izodinit.
