Duni AD is an operator that manages the holiday club Duni Royal Resort, which is located 40 kilometres south of Bulgaria's Black Sea port of Burgas. The all-inclusive resort, that was launched in 1986, features five hotels offering more than 1,000 rooms. The complex offers 6 restaurants, tennis courts, sport center, mini golf, swimming pools.
A total of 25% in of Dyuni was sold under Bulgaria's voucher privatisation programme in 1997. Another 15% of the resort was earmarked for sale to employees at preferential prices while 9.0% was set aside for covering restitution claims. In April 1999, Bulgaria's Privatisation Agency sold 51% of Dyuni to U.S. firm Jovanda International for USD 2.7 million. The Delaware-registered buyer, controlled by Bulgarian businessman Lyudmil Stoykov, pledged to invest another USD 4.34 million to upgrade leisure facilities at Dyuni over the next five years.
