It was incorporated in 1994 as a small trading company called ET "Semela - Veselin Dimitrov", specializing in the trade of food products, mainly biscuits, wafers, and croissants. Over the years, the company has evolved into the holding company "Semela Invest" AD, with its main focus on the modern production company ZIV EOOD, which is entirely dedicated to the production and trade of food. ZIV EOOD is the fourth-largest producer of sugar and chocolate products in Bulgaria and the second-largest exporter in the industry. The company operates "Sweet Plus" stores throughout the country, offering a wide variety of standard and affordable family-sized packages of favorite flavors of fresh wafers with peanuts, halva, lokum, hazelnut cream, coconut, caramel, plain and coated wafers. They also offer a variety of coated biscuits with peanuts or coconut, biscuits with various cream flavors such as strawberry, forest fruits, orange, mint, hazelnut, cappuccino, vanilla, or milk cream, biscuits for tea or coffee, with marshmallow, as well as traditional sweet temptations such as dry pastries, butter cookies, honey cookies, and "Negarche" biscuits, as well as specialized biscuits (sugar-free, muesli biscuits, baby biscuits).
