K-Infra Rodovia do Aço S.A. is a concessionaire responsible for the administration, recovery, maintenance, and operation of a 200.4-kilometer stretch of BR 393/RJ, from the border between the states of Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro to the junction with BR-116 (Via Dutra) in Volta Redonda, in the southern region of Rio de Janeiro. The concession contract with the National Land Transportation Agency (ANTT) was signed on March 26, 2008, after the company participated in the ANTT Auction held on October 9, 2007, at the São Paulo Stock Exchange. In this auction, the private sector was granted a 25-year concession for the seven lots of federal highways in the 2nd Stage of the Federal Road Concessions Program. The works carried out during the concession period will have a direct impact on the quality of road transportation in the southern region of Rio de Janeiro, improving aspects such as safety, flow, economy, and comfort.
