CODELCO (Chile)

Codelco is the largest copper producer in the world. The company is owned by the State of Chile and is engaged in the exploration, development and exploitation of mineral resources, processing and marketing of copper and byproducts. Codelco is based in Santiago de Chile. The mining operations, mineral processing and delivery markets are made by the Codelco Norte Division (fusion of the Chuquicamata and Radomiro Tomic divisions), the Salvador Division, the Andina division and El Teniente Division. Codelco also participates in mining, non-mining and business partnerships with other companies and has a network of subsidiaries and sales agents that support their marketing management . The Corporation is headed by a Board of seven members appointed by the President of the Republic of Chile. The Board is led by the Minister of Mines and also members of the Ministry of Finance, three appointed by the President of the Republic representatives and two employee representatives directors and supervisors of Codelco.
