Founded in 1949, its mission is to distribute electricity in the central coast area, comprising Quintay sectors, Algarrobo, The Quisco, El Tabo and Cartagena. Compania Electrica del Litoral S.A. was formed more than sixty years ago in Algarrobo. Since 1949 the Company has maintained its essential purpose of acquiring, transporting, distributing and selling electricity. The first Interim Board of the Company met on June 8, 1949. Subsequently, on December 31 of that year power was supplied for the first time to Algarrobo. By deed of June 5, 1950, Don José Verdugo Correa transferred to the company the power concessions of Algarrobo, The Quisco and El Tabo, which was approved by Decree of the Ministry of Interior, October 21, 1950. On October 13, 1978, the Company was granted the concession, to continue exploiting the electricity supply of the towns of Guaylandia, El Tabo, Isla Negra, El Quisco, Algarrobo Norte and Mirasol. On 14 April 1999, was the sale of the granting of goods, facilities and rights to Casablanca SA Energy of electrical distribution networks Quintay area and Tunquén. That same year, on October 29, materialized purchasing the electricity distribution concession area of San Sebastian, Cartagena North and north of Quintay. All this, with the appropriate authorization from the Ministry of Economy, Development and Reconstruction. Today Coastal Electric Company Inc. is a company with new business lines, with the experience of years, with its constant technological development and its valuable human capital, becomes leader in comprehensive service quality to its customers.
