Port Company Antofagasta is a company of the State. It began operations on July 1, 1998 and has its own assets and is related to the Government through the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications. The Company has as object the administration, exploitation, development and conservation of the Port of Antofagasta and all the goods that it possesses to any title. The degree of autonomy with which the Company was endowed with respect to the evaluation and execution of its strategies and projects -considering that its corporate purpose presents a broad wording regarding the administration and exploitation of its patrimony, being these even subject to common legislation- allows Empresa Portuaria Antofagasta to carry out its port, tourist and real estate projects.
