The origins of the Tricot stores go back to the sales area of the Textiles Pollak Hermanos factory (founded in 1952), which specialized in the manufacture of wool and textiles which was mainly marketed at a wholesale level. Empresas Tricot S.A. and its affiliated companies operate in two business segments. The retail segment that operates in a medium-sized store format of 1,000 square meters and with a chain of 80 Arica stores in Punta Arenas specializing in costumes (including footwear and accessories), and a commercial strategy of fashion at the best price with focus on women. The financial segment operates through its VISA Tricot credit card, granting direct loans to its customers both through sales in its own stores, as well as in associated merchants and cash advance.
