INVERCAP S.A. was created with the CAP S.A. division in 1994, as an investment company. It has consolidated and developed its main activities and businesses in its investments in steel, in steel and mining operations, in the steel processing area and also in sectors that favor Chile's growth. Starting in 2006, the company began the study of a business area focused on the development of non-conventional renewable energy projects, especially medium-sized hydroelectric power plants. In 2008, the Pasada Cuchildeo Hydroelectric Power Plant, located in Hornopiren, Province of Palena, in the Los Lagos Region, began operations. It provides clean energy to the Median System in the area, thus helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and thus contributing to lessening the damage caused by climate change. At the same time, the engineering and design projects for the Central Florin in the Futrono area continued. In 2011, the construction of the Pasada La Arena Hydroelectric Power Plant with an installed capacity of 3 MW and an average annual production of 17,000 MWh was completed. INVERCAP S.A. Maintains control of CAP S.A., the country's main iron and steel industry company that maintains control of CINTAC S.A. and INTASA S.A. Through its associated NOVACERO S.A. CINTAC S.A. is the largest manufacturer of pipes, pipes and profiles in the country that also has operations in Peru. So the main direct and indirect activities of INVERCAP S.A. are related to the mining, steel and steel business, such as the manufacture of pipes, open profiles, galvanized profiles, Steel House and Metalcom lines.
