Empresa Pesquera Eperva S.A. is an investment company that is focused mainly on the fishing industry. In the beginning, the Company carried out its production activities directly, but since its restructuring in 1999 it became the parent company which owns almost 47% of Corpesca S.A., which manages operations and fishing assets. Company Pesquera Eperva S.A. Began its operations in 1956 in the port of Arica. Its assets consisted of an industrial plant for the production of fish-meal and fish oil, with capacity to process eight tons per hour, and five fishing vessels with a total warehouse capacity of 255 tons. In July 2010, Empresa Pesquera Eperva S.A. acquired from Pesquera Iquique-Guanaye S.A. 16.5% of its shareholding in SouthPacificKorp S.A. (SPK). At the same time, in July 2010, the shareholders of SPK and Pesquera San José S.A., agreed to merge the two companies, which materialized in August 2010. This meant the incorporation of Pesquera San José S.A. To SouthPacificKorp S.A whose trade name changed to Orizon S.A. and added to his vision of his business the field of nutrition. Following this merger, Empresa Pesquera Eperva S.A. remained with 9.9% of the share capital of Orizon S.A., Pesquera Iquique-Guanaye S.A. with 50.1% and Pesquera San José S.A. With 40%. In June 2013, Sociedad Pesquera Coloso S.A. used the option to sell 20% of the shares of Orizon S.A., invoking to that effect the shareholders agreement signed between the parties in November 2010. After the sale, Empresa Pesquera Eperva S.A. remained with 13.2% of the capital, Pesquera Iquique-Guayane S.A. With 66.8% and Sociedad Pesquera Coloso S.A. With 20%. Currently, Empresa Pesquera Eperva S.A. has a stake in the ownership of other companies: 46.36% of Corpesca S.A., 13.2% of Orizon S.A, 10% of SerCor S.A. Corporate Services, 5% of Sigma S.A., and 24.5% of Comunicaciones y Ediciones Limitada. In addition, it has investments in financial instruments, such as term deposits and marketable securities.
