Parque Arauco was created in 1979 becoming a listed company in 1995. It develops and manages shopping centers in Chile and participates in Alto Palermo S.A. (APSA) in Argentina. The first shopping center was built in 1982 and has the same name as its parent company. In 1989 the original owners sold their stake to the Said Group, which maintains businesses in the beverage, banking and real estate business.
