The company is a large aircraft engine manufacturing base. It has developed and produced China's first large thrust turbojet engine, the first turbofan engine, the first marine gas turbine gas generator and undertaken a number of cutting-edge research and trial tasks in the areas of aviation, aerospace, nuclear industry, etc. It also have involved in several new domestic aircraft engine research projects and manufacturing tasks, such as "Qinling" and "Taihang" engines. The Company announced restructuring plan on the evening of 22 August 2010 intending to issue 175 million shares to five specific groups and buy RMB4.12 billion assets related to aircraft engine business. After completion of the major asset restructuring, along with its original products the company will have the capacity of manufacturing ordinary power thrust turbojet engines and helicopter engines. Scale of contracting aircraft engine parts manufacturing will be further expanded as well.
