The Company operate its out-of-home advertising network, primarily air travel advertising network, in the People's Republic of China. And the Company conducts the cryptocurrencies mining business operations by its Hong Kong subsidiary Blockchain Dynamics Limited.
The Group provides advertising time slots in the form of digital TV screens on airplanes, and media contents display in air travel. Collaborating with the Group's partners, AirNet serves airline travelers with interactive entertainment and a coverage of breaking news, and furnishes corporate clients with advertisements tailored to the perceptions of the travelers.
HISTORY
2007 The Company was incorporated in the Cayman Islands on April 12, 2007. Ordinary shares of the Company, have been listed on the NASDAQ Global Market since November 7, 2007 under the symbol “AMCN.”
2008 In July 2008, the Company acquired 100 of the equity interest in Excel Lead and 80 of the equity interest in Flying Dragon, which operate the advertising business on gate bridges in 10 airports in mainland China.
2009 In July 2009, the Company acquired 100 of the equity interests in Dominant City and Youtong, which operate various media resources in a number of airports including Guangzhou and Hangzhou airports in the PRC.
2010 In January 2010, the Company acquired 100 of the equity interest in Easy Shop Ltd. and the additional 90 of the equity interest in AM Outdoor.
In February 2010, the Company acquired an additional 45 of the equity interest in Dongding.
2017 On December 27, 2017, the Company announced that it entered into a termination agreement with AirMedia Holdings Ltd. and AirMedia Merger Company Limited to terminate the previously announced merger agreement in view that the going private transaction would not be completed by December 31, 2017, the termination date of the merger agreement. The parties have released each other from all liabilities and obligations with respect to the proposed transaction, and no termination fees will be payable by either party.
2019 On June 13, 2019, the Company changed its name to AirNet Technology Inc. Symbol from changed AMCN to ANTE. . The new cusip number is 00941Q104
