The Company is a one-stop financial technology platform aiming to transform the investing experience with its fully digitized brokerage and wealth management platform.
Technology permeates every part of its business, allowing the Company to offer a redefined user experience built upon an agile, stable, scalable and secure platform. It primarily serve the emerging affluent Chinese population, pursuing a massive opportunity to facilitate a once-in-a-generation shift in the wealth management industry and build a digital gateway into broader financial services.
The Company launched its business on the premise that no one should be precluded from investing on the basis of prohibitive transaction costs or market inexperience. It thus designed a platform around an elegant user experience integrating clear and relevant market data, social collaboration, trade execution and wealth management. Over the last nine years the Company has continuously enhanced its technology and built a comprehensive, user-oriented and cloud-based platform that is fully-licensed to conduct securities brokerage, wealth management and other financial services. This serves as a foundation from which the Company execute its growth strategies with an operating efficiency that allows it to offer commission rates that are significantly lower than industry average.
The Company operate its business mainly through Futu International Hong Kong, which is a HK SFC-regulated entity that holds the relevant licenses related to its securities brokerage and wealth management business.
2007: The Company commenced the Company s operations in December 2007 through Shenzhen Futu Network Technology Co., Ltd., or Shenzhen Futu, a limited liability company established under the laws of the PRC, to provide internet technology and software development services.
2014: In April 2014, the Company was incorporated under the laws of the Cayman Islands as its holding company.
2019: The Company completed its IPO on March 8, 2019 on the Nasdaq Global Market. On March 8, 2019, the ADSs representing its Class A ordinary shares commenced trading on Nasdaq under the symbol “FHL.” On October 17, 2019, the Company changed its symbol from “FHL” to “FUTU.”
2020: In October 2020, Moomoo Financial Singapore Pte. Ltd., our wholly-owned subsidiary in Singapore, obtained the Capital Markets Services License (CMSL) from the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
2021: In November 2021, the Company acquired 100 of the issued share capital of an Australian company and renamed it Futu Securities (Australia) Ltd., or Futu Australia, and it became our wholly-owned subsidiary. Futu Australia holds an Australian Financial Services License (AFSL).
2022: In June 2022, the Company acquired 100 of the issued share capital of a Japanese company and renamed it Moomoo Securities Japan Co., Ltd., or Moomoo Securities Japan, and it became our wholly-owned subsidiary. Moomoo Securities Japan holds the Financial Instruments Business Operators (FIBO) license in Japan. Moomoo Securities Japan is also a member of Japan Securities Dealers Association (JSDA), Japan Investment Advisers Association (JIAA), as well as a member of Tokyo Stock Exchange and Osaka Exchange.
These Company has dual listing which is NASDAQ and Hong Kong Stock Exchange. HKEX will listed effective on 30 December 2022.
