The company was established in 1988 and then known as Xiamen Tsann Kuen Electric Appliances Co., Ltd. In March 1993 it underwent joint-stock restructuring that 108 million promoter shares (B share) equivalent of its original net asset were issued publicly, and same year May to June the company issued 40 million oversea public shares. Mincankun B shares formally went to public at Shenzhen Stock Exchange on June 30, 1993. The company is mainly engaged in the manufacture and distribution of household electrical appliances.
