The Fondo para el Financiamiento del Sector Agropecuario (FINAGRO) is a development bank located in Bogota D.C., Colombia. It was created by Law 16 of 1990, almost 33 years ago. FINAGRO promotes the Colombian rural sector by providing financing instruments that stimulate investment. FINAGRO is a mixed economy company at the national level, organized as a credit institution with a special regime. It is linked to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and supervised by the Financial Superintendence of Colombia. The main purpose of FINAGRO is to provide resources to financial entities under favorable conditions, so that they can in turn grant credits to productive projects. Additionally, FINAGRO manages instruments to facilitate access to financing for agricultural projects. Currently, the company has a workforce of 250 employees and records assets of over $17.07 trillion.
