Hojalata y Laminados S.A., Holasa was created in 1968 by Siderurgica de Medellin S.A. -SIMESA-in order to produce Electrolytic Tinplate, the feedstock for the production of lids for soft drinks and beer, canned food and containers for various uses. In 1972 SIMESA sells 49% of its participation to Japanese companies Kawasaki Steel Corporation, Mitsubishi Corporation and Itoman and Co. Ltd. In 1975 sold the remaining 51% to Colombian investors. Currently lithography services are also provided to its customers.
