Oleoducto Bicentenario de Colombia S.A.S. was created on August 18, 2010 by seven oil industry companies, convened by Ecopetrol as strategic partners for the construction and operation of a transportation system that impacted on national development, by maximizing the country's oil wealth . In this way, Bicentenario was established with the purpose of designing, constructing, operating and being the owner, maintaining and commercially exploiting the pipeline that bears the same name as the company. Its scope of operation is in the departments of Casanare and Arauca. In 2013, the construction of the pipeline was completed, the length of which runs 230 kilometers from the Araguaney station to the Banadia station, by means of a 42-inch diameter steel pipe with 0.688 inches of wall thickness. The route of the Araguaney - Banadia pipeline crosses the municipalities of Hato Corozal, Nunchia, Paz de Ariporo, Pore and Yopal in Casanare, and Fortul, Saravena and Tame in Arauca. The oil production that serves Bicentenario is from the Piedmont foothills concentrated in Campo Rubiales, Castilla, Casanare and Floreнa, this crude property belonging to the company's partners.
