The company was founded in Germany in 1972 by Dirk Roβmann. Currently, Rossmann operates over 4,500 stores and employs more than 60,500 workers in 8 European countries. In the Czech Republic, Rossmann has more than 166 stores with an annual turnover of 5.5 billion CZK. The company focuses on meeting the needs and desires of its customers. It introduced cashless self-service checkouts in its stores, making it the first in the Czech drugstore market to do so. Rossmann also developed the first exclusively digital loyalty program in the Czech Republic, called the Rossmann Club, which includes the option for online shopping. The company offers a wide range of branded products as well as its own brand products such as ISANA, Babydream, enerBiO, Alterra, and Ideenwelt/Svět nápadů/. The private label products Alterra and enerBiO have received international recognition for their sustainable business practices. Rossmann is a leader in sustainability and has donated over 70 million CZK to help disadvantaged children and families since 2009.
