Bimbo Ecuador S.A. is a company located in Guayaquil. The company was founded on an image of the Bimbo bear, which was drawn on a Christmas card and later modified by Anita Mata. Bimbo Ecuador introduced the Super-Pan Bimbo, a new product in the market of Mexico City, which was wrapped in cellophane. The company expanded its product line to include donuts, Bimbollos, Medias Noches, and pastries wrapped in cellophane. Bimbo Ecuador underwent a major administrative reorganization with Lorenzo Servitje as the Director General. They built the largest bakery plant in Latin America and one of the top ten largest in the world. Bimbo Ecuador became a publicly traded company, with 15% of its shares listed on the Mexican Stock Exchange. The company created the Latin American Organization (OLA) to expand its operations south of the Mexican border. Bimbo Ecuador entered the Asian market and expanded to the west coast of the United States. Chocolates La Corona and the El Globo pastry chain joined the Bimbo Group. Bimbo Ecuador has become the largest bakery company worldwide and has transitioned to clean energy in all its operations.
