Ferremundo S.A.S. (Ecuador)

Ferremundo S.A. is a company located in Guayaquil, Ecuador. It was founded in 1976 in Machala by the Vejar family, specifically by Major Jaime Vejar and managed by his wife, Yolanda Beltrán. The first store, called "El Ferretero," was located on Colón and Olmedo streets. In 1987, Edmundo Vejar, the son of Yolanda Beltrán and the current president of the company, took over the management and aimed to become a national distributor. In 1988, "El Ferretero" suffered a fire that caused significant losses, but Edmundo Vejar was able to rebuild the business in the same location four months later. In 1999, the company moved its main offices to Guayaquil due to economic difficulties and became a wholesaler under the name Ferremundo S.A. The company experienced rapid growth in its customer base and acquired larger facilities on Las Américas Avenue in northern Guayaquil in 2000. In 2010, Ferremundo purchased a 33,000m² property in Pascuales, which included a warehouse and production factory, to meet the demand for its products and accommodate its growing workforce. In 2014, the company expanded its product portfolio to include the manufacturing of zinc, galvalum, and metal slabs. In 2017, Ferremundo began manufacturing steel profiles.
