Hep-Operator Distribucijskog Sustava d.o.o. is a subsidiary company within the Hrvatska elektroprivreda (HEP Group), the national energy company based in Zagreb. HEP Group has been involved in the generation, distribution, and supply of electricity for over a century. In recent decades, it has also expanded its operations to include the distribution and supply of heat energy and natural gas to customers. HEP Group is organized as a concern, with HEP d.d. serving as the parent company responsible for corporate governance and ensuring the safe and reliable supply of electricity. The subsidiary companies within HEP Group are divided into regulated activities, such as transmission and distribution, and non-regulated activities, such as generation and supply. The Croatian transmission system operator, HOPS, has been unbundled from HEP Group and operates independently according to the ITO model.
