Jindal Cotex Ltd (JCL) is a company located in Ludhiana, also known as the Manchester of India. It is the flagship company of the Jindal group, which was established in 1977 by Mr. JagdishRai Jindal as a trading business for Iron and Steel. The company has a strong focus on high sales turnover and has built a loyal and satisfied clientele. In 1980, JCL expanded into the manufacturing and export of bicycles and bicycle parts to various countries. In 1994, they further expanded their manufacturing capabilities by adding a steel re-rolling mill for the production of round and flat steels. In 1998, JCL entered the textile business under the name "J C L" and started spinning cotton and synthetic fibers with a capacity of 7000 spindles. Today, the Jindal group owns 45000 spindles and manufactures polyester spun yarns for the hosiery industry, super high tenacity sewing threads for tailoring, and is soon venturing into knitted-dyed-processed fabrics.
