Korea Ginseng Corp. (KGC), also known as Korea Ginseng Corporation, is a ginseng company based in South Korea. It is a subsidiary of KT&G and has two headquarters in Seoul and Daejeon. KGC's representative ginseng brand, 'Cheong Kwan Jang,' holds a dominant share in the Korean ginseng market, accounting for over 80%. In 2011, it also accounted for 35% of Korea's total health products market. KGC produces popular Korean Red Ginseng products under the brand name 'Cheong Kwan Jang,' including Korean Red Ginseng Heaven/Earth/Good, Korean Red Ginseng Extract, Korean Red Ginseng Powder, Honeyed Korean Red Ginseng Slices, and Korean Red Ginseng Tonic. The company has expanded its presence outside of Korea, particularly in the East Asian market, including China and Taiwan. KGC has a long history, with its forerunner, Samjungkwa, being established in 1899. In the 1940s, KGC's brand of Korean Red Ginseng, CKJ, became known as Cheong-Kwan-Jang. The company has maintained its position at the top of the market, even after going through name changes from the Monopoly Bureau to Korea Tobacco & Ginseng Corporation, and finally to KT&G subsidiary Korea Ginseng Corp.
