Elpitiya Plantations Plc (EPP) is a profitable Regional Plantation Company (RPC) located in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The company cultivates tea, rubber, oil palm, and other crops across 13 estates spanning 8,800 hectares. EPP underwent a transformation from a commodity-based business model to a more strategic venture in non-traditional crops, renewable energy, specialty tea, and others after privatization in 1997. Despite facing financial challenges and being ranked 22nd out of 23 plantation companies, EPP was acquired by Aitken Spence Plantation Managements Limited (ASPM) in a bid to stabilize the company. ASPM made significant investments in diversification, factory development, digitalization, and sustainability to ensure the future success and social sustainability of EPP. The company aims to be the number one plantation company in Sri Lanka.
