Vallibel Power Erathna PLC is a mini hydropower company located in Colombo, Sri Lanka. It is the largest public quoted mini hydropower company in the country. The company operates three mini hydropower plants in Kuruwita, Rathnapura, and Norton Bridge, with a combined capacity of 21.85 MW. Vallibel Power Erathna PLC generates and dispatches approximately 80 GWh of electricity to the Ceylon Electricity Board each year. This helps in reducing approximately 50,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions annually. It was finally renamed 'Vallibel Power Erathna Limited' in June 2005. The company's shares were listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange in May 2006. In November 2009, Vallibel Power Erathna PLC acquired Country Energy Pvt Ltd. The company's main activity is the generation of electricity using hydro resources and transmitting it to the national grid of the Ceylon Electricity Board.
