Lactis SA (Moldova)

Lactis SA is a company located in Riscani, Moldova. It was incorporated 68 years ago, with the opening of its first butter section. In 1956, the Cheese Factory in Riscani was opened, specializing in milk, casein, and butter production. The first batch of cheese was manufactured on November 23, 1969, which is considered the birthdate of the Cheese Factory in Riscani. Lactis SA is one of the oldest milk processing and commercialization enterprises in the country. Currently, the company has a workforce of 240 employees who produce a wide range of hard, semi-hard, melted, and smoked cheeses. In addition to whole dairy products such as pasteurized milk, kefir, sour cream, cream, butter, and fresh cheese, Lactis SA has been selling a line of products enriched with bifidobacteria since 2012, including 2.5% kefir and 15% bio sour cream. Lactis SA currently produces 17 types of cheeses. To ensure access to high-quality raw materials, Lactis SA has opened around 90 milk collection points in 86 villages across 7 districts of the Republic of Moldova. Most of these collection points are equipped with refrigeration equipment and express laboratories for quality control of raw materials. The goal of Lactis SA is to increase the consumption of dairy products in the Republic of Moldova by offering consumers high-quality and diverse products. The company continuously expands its product range and invests in the modernization of its technological equipment. Over the years, Lactis SA has received numerous awards, medals, and diplomas. Some of the company's achievements in the field of quality include the "Golden Mercury" Grand Prize, the "Silver Medal" for the best commercial brand in 2004 and 2006, the State Prize for Quality and Competitiveness, the "Best Taxpayer of the Year 2010" Honorary Diploma, the "Silver Medal" for the best commercial brand in 2010, and the "Golden Mercury" Grand Prize for the best commercial brand in 2012 in the "Socially Responsible" category.
