RZ Valavnica za lenti AD, established in 1999, is among the six independent domestic companies comprising the core of the Macedonian ferrous metallurgy. The company produces hot rolled coils and plates and checkered coils and sheets, which are exported to the European Union, the US, and all of the former republics of Yugoslavia. It has capacity of 800,000 t sheets and 120,000 t coils per year.
The product quality of RZ Valavnica za lenti AD is approved by BSI EN ISO 9002 certification.
In May 2004, Mittal Steel acquired a 56.8% interest in the hot strip mill, which subsequently increased to 77.45% and the facility was renamed to Mittal Steel Skopje.
In June 2006, Mittal Steel and Arcelor merged under the Arcelor Mittal name. The Macedonian unit was renamed into Arcelormittal Skopje (HRM) AD in 2007.
