G Capital Berhad is a public company listed on the Main Board of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange. It holds stakes in over 20 companies across various sectors in Malaysia. The company was previously involved in trading latex concentrate but expanded its operations in 2010 by acquiring GPB Corporation Sdn Bhd, which specializes in chartering land-based passenger transportation assets and specialty vehicles. In 2013, G Capital Berhad entered the renewable energy sector by acquiring Perak Hydro Renewable Energy Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (PHREC). PHREC is currently developing seven sites with different partners, with two sites commissioned in 2019, four sites under construction, and three sites awaiting relevant approvals. G Capital Berhad acts as the master developer for all mini-hydro projects in Perak. The company also contributes to marginalized societies and promotes renewable energy through its subsidiaries, including Bas Rakyat Sdn Bhd and Gunung Hydropower Sdn Bhd. G Capital Berhad's transportation assets are chartered through its subsidiaries, providing services to the Ministry of Defence. Gunung Hydropower Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of G Capital Berhad, builds and operates mini-hydropower plants, with a joint venture agreement with PHREC to develop a 10MW plant in Perak. In 2013, G Capital Berhad acquired an 85% stake in Pusaka Hijau Sdn Bhd, which owns 60% of PHREC, to strengthen its presence in the mini-hydropower generation industry.
