Matang Berhad is a company located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It was incorporated on April 3, 1978, under the Companies Act 1965. Matang Group, the company's subsidiaries, are primarily involved in the management of plantation estates, the sale of fresh fruit bunches (FFB), and property investment holding. The history of Matang Group dates back to the 1970s when there was a need for entrepreneurs to establish large corporations to compete in the growing Malaysian economy. Matang Group's plantation estate, known as Matang Estate, covers an area of 1,094.15 hectares (2,703.7 acres) in the Districts of Ledang and Segamat in Johor. The estate consists of planted areas, as well as facilities such as an estate office, staff and workers' quarters, and a warehouse. In addition to the plantation estate, Matang Group owns an industrial property in Johor Bahru, Johor, comprising three buildings with a total nett lettable area of approximately 149,000 square feet. Another subsidiary, MRSB, owns a vacant freehold development land in Tangkak, District of Ledang, Johor, measuring 5,016.85 square meters. Matang Estate cultivates oil palms and harvests FFBs from its 1,080.10 hectares of planted area in Johor. The majority of the estate is flat and undulating, with over 90% of the planted area consisting of mature oil palm trees.
