Mikro Msc Berhad is a company located in Shah Alam, Malaysia. It was incorporated in 1997 during the Asian Financial Crisis. The founders, Yim Yuen Wah, Wong Yin Wah, and Fong See Ni, recognized the need for high-quality, locally built electrical distribution equipment in Malaysia, as most products were imported and sold at a premium by major international players. Mikro aimed to offer internationally-accredited electrical distribution products at competitive prices. The demand for electrical distribution equipment in Malaysia was widespread, especially after a law was passed in 1994 making their installation compulsory. However, large multinational companies dominated the manufacturing and supply of these products. Despite initial challenges in convincing the market of the quality of locally produced products, Mikro gained a reputation for reliability and excellent value through perseverance and regulatory recognition. In its first seven years, Mikro focused on creating a diverse portfolio of products through extensive research and development (R&D) efforts, outsourcing manufacturing to third-party companies. This surprised industry-watchers, as Mikro was able to offer a similar range of products as multinational competitors. In 2004, the company brought all manufacturing activities in-house, reducing costs and increasing operational efficiency. Today, Mikro continues to deliver quality electrical distribution products at affordable prices. The company has a management team focused on quality and affordability, a dedicated team of engineers and machine operators involved in R&D and production, and utilizes cutting-edge technology.
