Nexa Resources Perú S.A.A., previously known as Minera Milpo is dedicated to the exploration and exploitation of mining claims and the extraction, concentration and commercialization of polymetallic minerals, primarily, such as zinc, lead and copper, in the regions of Ica and Pasco. During 2010, the group ranked third in the national production of zinc (10%) and fifth in the lead production (7%). Milpo was formed on April 6th, 1949, in order to exploit the Porvenir mine in the area of Pasco. The company is part of Grupo Milpo, Peru's mining group focused on copper mining, gold, silver, lead and zinc in Peru and Chile. The company operates four mines in Peru: El Porvenir and Atacocha in Pasco region, Chapi Moquegua Region and Cerro Lindo in Ica region and the Ivan mine and refinery in Region II, northern Chile.
