Dandot Cement Company Limited (Pakistan)

Dandot Cement Company Limited is a public limited company located in Lahore, Pakistan. It was incorporated in 1980 and began production in 1983. The company is listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange and is engaged in the production and marketing of cement. Originally, the cement sector in Pakistan was government-owned and controlled by the State Cement Corporation of Pakistan. However, in 1992, the cement industry was privatized, and Dandot Cement Plant was acquired by the Chakwal Group of Companies. The plant was initially installed in 1982 by the State Cement Corporation of Pakistan with the assistance of M/s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) Japan. The company later contacted FLSmidth Denmark to increase the plant's capacity to 1,600 M.Ton per day. This optimization work was completed in 1994, allowing the company to produce 504,000 M.Ton of cement per year. In 2000, Dandot Cement Company Limited was sold to M/s Gharibwal Cement Company Limited, and in 2007, it was acquired by the Three Star Group of Companies. As of May 2019, the company is under the control of Calicom Industries (Pvt.) Limited (CIPL). The company is currently in negotiations with FLSmidth Denmark to further increase its production capacity to 1,800 M.Ton of clinker per day. The management is also exploring options to improve machinery efficiency, including the replacement of old electric installations and equipment to reduce power and fuel costs.
