Kot Addu Power Company Limited ("KAPCO") was incorporated in 1996 in order to engage in the electric utilities industry so it can provide the needed electric power to the national grid. KAPCO`s main activity is operate and maintain a multi-fuel fired power station with 15 generating units. The electricity is generated by using 3 kinds of fuel namely natural gas, low sulphur furnace oil and high speed diesel and the result is a production of approximately 1,600 MW of electricity. The generated electricity is transmitted to the KAPCO`s sole customer Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA).
