PG SILESIA (Przedsiębiorstwo Górnicze "SILESIA" sp. z o.o.) is a company engaged in the extraction of hard coal, operating in southern Poland. Since 2012, it has been producing hard coal primarily for the energy sector, as well as specific types of coal for retail sales. In addition to coal, PG SILESIA sells mine gas, stone for construction purposes, and provides solutions for the ecological storage of energy minerals (ash and flue dust). With 110 years of coal mining experience, the "Silesia" Mine boasts a rich mining tradition. The underground part of the mining facility includes 2 mining levels and 2 ventilation levels with a network of 39.7 kilometers of mining excavations. The surface part includes a mechanical coal processing plant, a retention and dosing tank for saline water in Kaniów, as well as mechanical, electrical, and shaft infrastructure. The underground part is connected to the surface part by 5 shafts: 3 for mining and services, and 2 for ventilation, with a maximum depth of up to 556 meters. The "Silesia" coal deposit is located in the "Czechowice II" mining area, covering an area of 21.36 km2 established by the decision of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources on August 26, 1994.
