Towarowa Gielda Energii S.A. (TGE) is a licensed commodity exchange located in Warsaw, Poland. It operates as the only licensed commodity exchange in the country, regulated by laws on commodity exchanges. TGE is supervised by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority and is authorized to conduct regulated markets. The company's activities include trading in various markets, such as electricity, natural gas, property rights, CO2 emissions allowances, and agricultural-food products since 2020. TGE has established itself as a leading commodity exchange in Central and Eastern Europe, particularly in terms of trading volumes in electricity and natural gas. This is due to its business model, which allows market participants to engage in buying and selling various exchange products in one place. TGE is listed on the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) list of platforms for reporting transactional data in accordance with the requirements of the REMIT Regulation. In November 2021, TGE's Information Platform (GPI) received full certification from ACER as an Inside Information Platform (IIP). This certification enables energy market participants to publish internal information required by REMIT regarding planned and unplanned capacity losses of generation facilities and the availability of consumption facilities through gpi.tge.pl. The company actively participates in international cooperation projects at both the European and regional levels. TGE obtained the status of a Nominated Electricity Market Operator (NEMO) for the Polish price area in December 2015, which was extended for another 4 years in December 2019. Since November 19, 2019, TGE has been operating on the cross-border Single Intraday Coupling (SIDC) market in the XBID model. Additionally, the Interim Coupling project was implemented on the European Day-Ahead Coupling (SDAC) market on June 17, 2021, allowing for expanded cross-border energy trading connections with Germany, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia, in addition to existing connections with Sweden and Lithuania. TGE is an active member of national and international organizations, including the Chamber of Gas Industry, Europex (European Association of Energy Exchanges), APEx (Association of Power Exchanges), and the Polish-Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce. In addition to international cooperation, TGE prioritizes ongoing dialogue with market participants. In 2020, the Market Council was established as an advisory body to the TGE Management Board, focusing on the development of product offerings and finding the best solutions for market participants. In 2021, the Agricultural Market Council was established, bringing together representatives from the agricultural-food industry.
