The Bucharest Stock Exchange SA (BVB) is the most important institution on the capital market in Romania. The company manages the regulated market of financial instruments. It turned into a joint-stock company in 2005 and in 2010 it was listed on its own market. BVB is among the companies included in the BET index but also in other global local indices. The Bucharest Stock Exchange manages two markets: the regulated market where securities issued by Romanian and international entities are traded; the AeRO market, aimed at start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises. The main source of income for the Bucharest Stock Exchange is the trading of listed instruments, the fees paid by issuers for admission to trading, as well as the sale of stock market information to interested users.
