Irum SA (Romania)

IRUM was founded in 1953. Initially state-owned, the first studies on forestry machinery are conducted in 1968, and the first skidders are built only a year later. IRUM becomes a private capital company in 1999 with Maviprod as its main shareholder, dedicating itself to the forestry sector from that moment on. In 2002 we become sole distributor and supplier of the renowned Perkins engines in Romania, and in 2008, thanks to the company’s rapid development and success, we achieve the same status in the Republic of Moldova. In 2009 the 30.000th axle is constructed, and in 2010, a new era begins in company’s history: the first agricultural tractors leave the new assembly line, combining proven Belarus technology with IRUM know-how and experience. The year 2011 also marks the introduction of the award-winning series 1200 Perkins engine with Tier IIIB emissions values. In 2013 IRUM celebrates its 60th anniversary.
