SC Filiala de Distributie si Furnizare a Energiei Electrice Electrica Banat SA was a subsidiary of Electrica SA and was among the first Romanian companies in the Electric Energy field to turn into a main private owned companies, by the selling contract of Electrica Subsidiary to the Italian ENEL SpA, on July 19, 2004. The Italian Group ENEL bought 24% stake and raised the capital up to 51% stake for a total of EUR 69.1 mn. The company provides electricity for 4 counties: Timiş, Arad, Caraş-Severin şi Hunedoara. In 2005, the name changes into Enel Distributie Banat SA.
