Vae Apcarom was settled up in 1973, with the first name IPICCF. In 1991 Vae Apcarom SA Buzau is established by taking over the former Intreprinderii de Productie Industriala pentru Constructii Cai Ferate Buzau. In February 1998 the privatization process started and the company has become a member of the VAE Concern Austria - world-wide leader in turnouts manufacturing, in the beginning by 51.7% stake (from FPS) and then, through a joint stock raise, by 77.4% stake. In the same year the name chages to Vae Apcarom SA. In February 2007 the Austrian Company VAE GMBH raised its stake in APCAROM by 9% more when it bought the stake of the investment fund company, Broadhurst Investments. Since June 1997 Vae Apcarom SA is quoted on Bucharest Stock Exchange.
