The "Detskii Mir" group of companies is the largest retail operator of children's goods in Russia and Kazakhstan. The first store with the name "Children's World" was opened on September 8, 1947 in Moscow on Kirov Street and was a branch of the Central Department Store. 10 years later, in 1957 the Central Children's World opened next to the Lubyanka metro station. Today the Group of Companies unites the chain of stores "Detsky Mir" and the retail network ELC (Early Learning Center - Center for Early Development). The chain of stores "Detsky Mir" occupies a leading position in Russia in the market of children's goods. As of June 30, 2017, the Group includes 488 Detsky Mir stores in 181 cities in Russia and Kazakhstan, and 40 ELC stores. The brand "Children's World", which in 2017 will turn 70 years old, is the most recognizable among the retail chains of children's goods.
